Perineum Ice and Heat Pack from Bubba Bump.
If you're planning a vaginal birth, a perineum ice and heat pack is an absolutely essential item for your early postpartum period, and something important for you to add to your hospital bag for mum.
Use a cooled ice pack to place on the perineum area in the hours and days after birth to help relieve swelling and provide relief from pain and bruising after a vaginal birth. Ice is one of the best ways to treat bruising and promote healing in the perineum. If you have stitches, tearing, or an epesiotomy, the use of ice is also recommended to reduce swelling and bruising.
In addition to the benefits of ice, our perineum ice and heat packs can also be heated for use during the second stage of labour, or to assist with relieving symptoms such as pelvic pain and Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD).
Please note that design of the packs may differ slightly depending on current stock level.
Each pack comes with a one perineum ice/heat pack and 5 x disposable covers.
Use the sleeves provided and do not apply the packs directly to the skin.
To clean, wash with warm soapy water.

How to use?
Do not ingest or insert pad into the body. Do Not use on infants. Use under adult supervision. Avoid use on highly sensitive or insensitive skin. Do not use on open wounds. Overheating may damage or destroy gel bead pads. Discard if damaged. Test gel bead temperature prior to use.
For use for cold therapy:
Place in freezer for approximately 2 hours or submerge in icy water until desired temperature is achieved.
For use for heat Therapy:
Submerge in hot water or microwave for the suggested times below. Heat in additional 5 second increments until desired temperature is achieved.
- 700 watt microwave: 20 seconds
- 1000 watt microwave: 15 seconds
- 1200 watt microwave: 10 seconds
Slip pad into sleeve and place on area. Apply for the medically recommended time of 20 minutes. Wait until skin returns to normal temperature before reapplying
